Looking for a quick guide to earn more gold in Warcraft Rumble? Look no further as the game has been published for quite some time, there's been a lot of copy and paste guides ripping each other's guides and reposting them over and over. Here is a quick and dirty guide with no AI written content here.
Arclight Surges
Arclight surges happen every two days, and you will receive notifications across your screen for a baby-blue highlighted area to clear. Clearing each zone typically nets you 300 gold, and takes maybe 15 minutes max to clear unless you are using a fresh cycle of troops. To make things easier, try to use a leader and minis deck that you are comfortable with, and go to town. There are only a few things to note - there are random "buffs" if you will that are the theme of the Arclight Surge. Some days it could be that if you mine, your gold miner will increase 10 levels, or it could be that your undead troops get switched to alliance troops, so keep that in mind when picking your troops out before you deploy.
Types of game modifiers:
Sappertime - Two sappers spawn at each base every 15 seconds
Sappertime Counters
S Tier Ranged Troops: Pyromancer, Huntress, Flamewalker, Drake, Ogre Mage, Murloc Tidehunters, S.A.F.E. Pilot
A Tier Ranged Troops: Darkspear Troll, Whelp Eggs, Harpies, Vultures
For sappertime counters, the two sappers that spawn at each base, run fast. Typically ranged, spells or AoE minis do best to knock the pairs out since once they are in range, they launch fast at your base and hit hard.
Overclocked - Triple Income (Passive Gold Income Increased to 300%)
Overclocked Counters
For overclocked counters, there isn't a specific set of troops with this game modifier. However, I love trying out high cost troops since you would gain gold at a much faster rate. Great time to try out Abominations, Mountaineers, Chimaeras, Molten Giants, Huntresses and high cost leaders like Rend Blackhand, Maiev Shadowsong, General Drakkisath, Cairne Bloodhoof, and Sylvanas Windrunner.
Bloodsport - All minis gain Bloodlust
Bloodsport Counters
Bloodsport counters aren't really an issue either, as the trait for bloodlust is as follows, "Bloodlusted units gain +33% movement and attack speed." This is also another mode that I love playing with slower troops, just to see what it would be like such as Molten Giants since they are slower than molasses, Abominations, and Footmen. Or, you could go completely ham with some fast troops, and see how fast Angry Chickens run across the map which is always entertaining.
Gilded Armaments - Kobolds gain 10 levels when Mining Gold. Minis gain 5 levels when opening a Chest.
Gilded Armaments Counters
If you remember Goldtooth, or Heroic Goldtooth, you might remember how viscious those kobold miners get when they get a few gold under their belt. The best way to counter this is to use unbound troops such as Dark Iron Miner to beat the NPC to the punch, planting Whelp Eggs to spawn when they start mining, or can use a S.A.F.E. Pilot to kill the opposing Kobold. Any unbound troop works well, really, but the fun part is leveling up your own Kobold as many levels as you can, and watching them chunk the boss.
Ding! - Minis Level up each time they are played
Ding! Counters
The play on this, is just to eliminate the NPC as quickly as possible. If there was a heroic version of this (which there isn't), this might pose a problem if you are going back and forth deploying troops battling it out. However, this is a relatively easy game mode which I like to play Bloodmage Thalnos with his passive of "Thalnos gains 1 Level for each Spell you play, until death". This is totally fun when you deploy Thalnos wave after wave, and level him up with some spells.
Dragon's Hoard - Gold Mines and Treasure Chests regenerate Gold very quickly.
Dragon's Hoard Counters
Dragon's Hoard for Arclight surges don't really make a difference in the game mode, and can be easily defeated by normal game play. I would say just throw a Dark Iron Miner in your line up since it is at least 6 encounters and makes it go by a bit faster to recoupe the gold.
Glass Cannons - All Minis deal double damage and have half health.
Glass Cannons Counters
The glass cannons counter is using spells, such as Arcane Blast to eliminate any types of waves, since all minis have half health. I like to throw a Holy Nova and Arcane Blast in the lineup, or throw a Pyromancer to destroy waves quickly. Utilizing elemental champs typically do well, since in my experience since if the NPC uses a regular mini with low health they are easily defeated, and if they use an armored mini and it's reduced in health, they are way easier to eliminate.
Generally speaking, you can normally clear Arclight Surges with no issues, unless you get Darkshore as a surge, Shadowclaw is pretty annoying to kill roaming around the map, Un'Goro Crater where Tar Tyrant is pretty annoying with his slows and poison. I think my top pick of someone who is just down-right time consuming is Inquisitor Whitemane in the Lordaeron map as you have to time your kills simultaneously, but again on Surges, they are relatively easy to win as long as you take a few minutes to review the game modifiers.
